Labradorite Pendant

Labradorite with non-tarnish silver wire. The beautiful piece has deep blue flash through the stone.

The name labradorite originates from Canada, specifically the Labrador region, where it was unearthed around 1770 by Moravian missionaries who were evangelizing the Inuit population.

There are several myths surrounding this colourful stone. One such legend holds that an Inuit warrior believed the brilliant flash of colours inside stone to be the Northern Lights of the aurora trapped inside. He shattered the stones with his spear to free the lights to the skies where they belonged.

Labradorite is believed to ward off evil spirits and provide protection from harm when being worn.
